Program

Day 1: Arrival

Individually travel to the starting hotel in Hochpustertal. Free unguarded public parking is available near the hotel.

Day 2: Hochpustertal – Plätzwiese – Cortina d’Ampezzo

(Approx. 45 - 55 km, approx. 1,000 meters elevation gain or approx. 30-35 km, approx. 350 meters elevation gain)

The more challenging route takes you to the Prags Valley, where you can make a detour to the idyllic Prags Wildsee. The route leads to the high plateau Plätzwiese, with the majestic Dürrenstein and Hohe Gaisl towering above. Then, descending through the old military road to Hőhlensteintal and the "Ferrovia delle Dolomiti" railway trail over the Cimabanche Pass to the Olympic city Cortina d’Ampezzo. The easier route goes directly through the railway trail to Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Day 3: Cortina d'Ampezzo - Belluno

(Approx. 80 km, 970 meters elevation gain or approx. 75 km, 150 meters elevation gain)

In the more challenging variant, follow the "Lunga Via delle Dolomiti" bike path along the former railway line. The view includes the Sorapis mountain range on the left and the Cinque Torri rock formation on the right. After a steep climb, you reach Zoppè di Cadore, the highest municipality in the Belluno region. From there, continue to Longarone. Longarone was completely destroyed by a flood wave triggered by a rockfall in the reservoir in 1963. The town was rapidly rebuilt, and you pass by Ponte nelle Alpi to the final destination, Belluno. The easier route follows the bike path through Pieve di Cadore, Longarone, and then to Belluno.

Day 4: Belluno - Pieve di Soligo/Susegana

(Approx. 85 km, 1200 meters elevation gain or approx. 60 km, 300 meters elevation gain)

In the more challenging option, after a longer ascent, you reach the famous Nevegal plateau at the beginning. Follow the route of the Giro d’Italia - in 2011, it led from Belluno to Nevegal. From there, you can see Lake Santa Croce and Lake Morto. Along the ridge, enjoy a breathtaking 360° panorama. In the north, you can still see the Dolomites, and in good visibility, you can already see the blue Adriatic Sea in the south. Ride through vineyards to the south through the Prosecco region. A highlight of today's stage is Molinetta della Croda, an old water mill from the 17th century. Then, continue to the final destination Pieve di Soligo/Susegana. End the evening with a good glass of wine. The easier route stays in the valley, cycling through hilly terrain first past Lake Santa Croce and then through the Prosecco region to the final destination.

Day 5: Pieve di Soligo - Caorle

(Approx. 85 km, 250 meters elevation gain)

There is only one option for this stage. The route takes you along the Piave. The mountains are mostly behind you, and it continues hilly towards Nervesa della Battaglia. Leave the Montello nature reserve. On the way to the lagoon beaches, Noventa di Piave is a popular stop for cyclists as there are good shopping opportunities with fashion and sports outlets. At the end of the stage, reach Caorle, one of the most picturesque places in eastern Veneto.

Day 6: Cultural or Beach Day in Caorle

Caorle has beautiful golden sandy beaches, many historical, cultural, and scenic places, as well as ideal opportunities for relaxation and entertainment. The historic center of Caorle is divided into two halves, with dozens of narrow streets winding around. The atmosphere when strolling through the alleys is unique at any time of the year. In the old town, just a few meters from the sea, stands an ancient cathedral and next to it the very special cylindrical bell tower, built in 1100, both in Romanesque style. In front of the cathedral square, you will find a beautiful and unique promenade, lined with stones and known as "Scogliera Viva" (Living Cliffs). One of the most significant buildings in Caorle is the church of Madonna dell'Angelo, a small church right by the sea.

Day 7: Caorle or Excursion to Jesolo or Venice

(Approx. 25 km to Jesolo, 67 km to Venice)

You can spend the day at the beach, indulge in culinary delights, and enjoy the sun. If you prefer a more active day, you have the option to cycle to Jesolo or Venice and then back to Caorle. Along the way, there are numerous bathing and refreshment opportunities.

Day 8: Caorle

Individual departure or possibility of an extension.
